Meet Gelish® ® Master Educator - Becca Butterworth 

Location : Barnsley, South Yorkshire

My love for Gelish® started in 2013, though I started my nail journey in the late 90’s I started doing nails in the late 90’s when acrylic French with flicks were the fashion and products were limited. 

I love nails, I love modern art, I love Gelish®  products and I am passionate about making every set of nails I do a piece of art that brings joy to the wearer. 

Once I started using the amazing Gelish®  from 2013, my love for nail art has grown along with the product range to support my passion. 

Becoming an educator for Gelish®  has offered me amazing opportunities to teach all over the UK from Hull to Jersey and I have been fortunate to be part of an amazing nail tech team supporting  projects like the X factor and charity nail events. 

My work has been chosen to be showcased in industry magazines and I’ve met the most amazing and inspirational people that working with the brand. Gelish®  gave me the confidence to compete in nail competitions, and I believe Gelish® ’s ongoing mentoring and support have led me to win medals and trophies from multiple competitions. 

I love supporting my students throughout their training, and building their confidence. I truly believe  Gelish®  products allow my students to help them to go on and follow whichever nail path they’re passionate about in this industry. I am always trying to improve and learn, and I think that is important to be successful in whatever path you choose to follow.

Our Q&A with Becca:

What inspired you to do nails?

I was inspired by a short nail course as part of my HND in beauty therapy and management which I loved! I went on to do more specialised private courses in nails. 

What motivated you to join the Gelish®  team?

My educator encouraged me to join the Gelish®  team as she said she could see my dedication and desire to want to teach and support my fellow nail professionals in the Yorkshire area.

How long have you been an Educator for Gelish® ?

I have been an educator since 2016.

What is your favourite part of nails and teaching nails?

I absolutely love nail art.  The process of transforming plain nails into works of art on finger nails can be a challenge but so satisfying when you have surpassed your clients expectations.  Teaching is so rewarding for me especially when you see your students hard work paying off and they start to produce amazing nails and you know you had a hand in their success.

What is your goal?

My nails goals are to win more nail art competitions and have nail art recognised as art and I want to encourage and inspire other nail techs to really explore and unleash their artistic side.

Becca is a true nail artist. Gelish®  are always so impressed with Becca’s eye for detail and her portfolio is always one of the highest viewed on social media. She is an inspiration to her colleagues and her students. 

Becca has had salons both in Ibiza and in the UK and has been the owner of Becca Butterworth’s Beautitude for the last decade. 

Becca teaches classes online and in her salon in Barnsley.  She loves teaching others and helping them realise their own passions and talents and instilling in them her belief that nail art is art.
