Meet Gelish® Master Educator – Claire Blincoe

Hi I’m Claire! 

I started my career in training back in the mid-nineties as a NVQ Trainer and Assessor.  I then moved on to the Forensic Science Service (FSS). When the FSS closed I decided on a complete career change and setup my own business as a nail technician.

Coming from a training background, I always viewed training as an investment and not as a cost.  Each year I took new classes and learnt new techniques to challenge myself, as well as keeping my core skills up to date.  In the summer of 2015, I was extremely proud to be asked to join the Education team for Gelish®. I flew off to the Gelish® Head Office in Los Angeles and successfully passed the intense educator training program. 

My love of science has continued since becoming a nail tech and educator.  I love breaking down the chemistry of the products and teaching my students to have an in-depth understanding of our gels, acrylics and more.  The importance of natural nail care along with creating beautiful salon nails really brings out the geek in me. I love passing on this passion to all my students with both online courses and face to face classes from my salon in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Our Q&A with Claire:

What inspired you to do nails?

My nail tech bought Gelish® when it was launched at the show in the UK and used it on my nails.  I was made redundant and wanted to a job that I could work around my young family.  I loved having my nails done so decided nails was the career for me.

What motivated you to join the Gelish® team?

My love for the products, that Gelish® do their own product development, a great education program, the whole company ethos of always striving to be better and looking after their customers.

How long have you been an Educator for Gelish®?

I’ve been a Gelish® Master Educator for 7 years.

What is your favourite part of nails and teaching nails?

I love the science behind the products, how the chemistry works and how I can break it down into simple terms for my students to understand.  Nail products are constantly evolving and I love the challenge of working in such a fast paced industry. I love seeing my students progress and go onto having successful careers.  My aim is to always help my student be a better nail tech than I am.

What is your goal?

To grow as an Educator and have larger premises so I can teach more than 2 days a week.

Claire is so product formulation driven and that’s what makes her a fantastic teacher.  She loves breaking down the product chemistry of products and teaching her students to have an in-depth understanding of our products and the importance of natural nail care along with creating beautiful salon nails for all of our different client needs. 

Claire teaches both online courses and face to face from her salon in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
